Endurance Athletes

Attention runners, swimmers, cyclists, and triathletes!
Carbs are the main source of fuel that your body uses for long distances. Eating a good old bowl of corn flakes is about the best breakfast you can have before a race. Eat it about 1 1/2 to 2 hours before your race starts so that you have time to digest it. Those carbs will be flowing freely through your blood and ready to be used for energy! Eat again within a half hour after the race to refuel yourself and start repairing the muscles you used. The best thing after a race is a nice glass of chocolate milk. The sugar refuels you while the protein builds your muscles. They work together!
